Development of the bilateral relations between Egypt and Vietnam was discussed when the Minister of Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin met the Vietnamese Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Vu Huy Hoang. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Vietnamese Ministry of Trade and Industry and senior officials of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the Ministry of Investment.
The meeting covered means to increase the Vietnamese investments in Egypt in the sectors of clothes, garments, leather industries, chemical industries, drugs, fish and agriculture. The two ministers discussed cooperation between the two countries to face the repercussions of the global financial crisis.
Dr. Mohieldin noted that an investment mission will be sent to Vietnam including representatives of GAFI, business gatherings and public and private investments to discuss investment cooperation in different economic fields and increase cooperation in the fields of tourism and culture.
Mr. Hoang highlighted the importance of increasing commercial and investments cooperation with Egypt within the distinguished political relations with Egypt as the first Arab country that established relations with Vietnam in 1958. He underscored the need to boast cooperation between GAFI and its Vietnamese counterpart.
Mr. Hoang invited officials of the Holding Company for Drugs to visit Vietnam and take part in the international exhibitions in this field in Vietnam.
