Egypt’s Communications and Information Technology (CIT) sector is one of the fastest growing in the world. According to the 2004 “Network Readiness index” by the WEF, Egypt ranks 57th out of total 104 countries, eight places up from the 2003 ranking. 

A “National Information Society” initiative reflects the political commitment and interest towards the implementation of an E-society that can compete effectively in the new information era.

Egypt is hosting the activities of 1,415 CIT companies both foreign and local providing 40, 000 job opportunities in international companies in partnership with multinational companies such as Alcatel, Ericsson, Oracle and IBM.

The development of a CIT industry can be a powerful engine for export growth and job creation.
