- The Ministry of Investment was established in July 2004 by Presidential Decree 231/2004. The decree defines the ministry's objectives, tasks and affiliates.
- The Prime Ministerial Decree 1928/2004 was issued to authorize the Minister of Investment to enforce the law governing special economic zones and its executive regulations.
